KOTA KINABALU: The head of the Catholic Archdiocese here, Friday, instructed all Masses and church activities to be suspended from this Sunday for two weeks (Oct 3-16) until further notice.
Archbishop John Wong said this in response to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) from the Sabah State Covid-19 Committee on the inter-district travel ban directives.
St Simon Catholic Church Likas parish rector, Fr Cosmas Lee, said they will follow the prelate’s instruction, adding that “live-streaming of the Sunday Masses is on as usual at 8.30am”.
Meanwhile, the rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Fr Paul Lo, said:
“Due to the increased Covid-19 cases, we shall suspend all Masses and church activities for two weeks.
“Live-stream Masses (both Sunday and Daily) will be provided following the same timing as we have now.”
