KOTA KINABALU: The head of the Catholic Archdiocese here announced that those above 70 years old can now attend Masses.
Archbishop John Wong said the State Laws and Native Affairs Ministry, through its Permanent Secretary, approved the archdiocese’s application to allow certain segment of the faithful to attend Mass in church.
“With immediate effect, those who are above 70 years old can now attend Mass provided they are strong and healthy,” Archbishop John said in view of the extended Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
“Similarly, all foreigners who have proper documents are also allowed to attend Mass.”
The prelate added that while the archdiocese welcomed the new development, he asked the respective parishes to continue enforcing the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
