The Parish’s Confirmation class students, led by teacher Nicholas Fung, visited the Holy Family Residence in Papar, on June 21. It’s the first away trip for students preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Parish.
Also present were some of the students’ parents and Sunday School head Anne Wong.
Upon arrival, the visitors were welcomed by the sister-in-charge there. The parents, including the students, were quick to warm up to the senior citizens at the home.
Anne said: “I was glad that several parents came with us for the visit because they led the way in our interaction with the residents there. It’s heartening to see that our students quickly got the hang of it. And the elderly women warmed up to them in no time.”
The visitors also brought cupcakes, pudding, “ham chim piang” and drinks for residents of the home. It was followed by action songs performed by the students, led by Leroy Chan, to the great amusement of the senior citizens.
The students will be confirmed in October, this year.
